Verdi’s La Traviata was universally praised by the audiences for the standard of the performances, the excellence of Lake Macquarie Philharmonic Orchestra, the conducting of Maestro Christopher Bearman OAM and the innovative use of the cube at MAP mima in Speers Point Park, thanks to director Michael Blaxland OAM.
Lake Macquarie Council was very happy with the success of their Opera in the Park concept and delighted that audiences loved it. There were many first-time opera goers who would like to see more and are now very keen. Opera Hunter is continuing to fulfil a dream of developing taste in new audiences for this amazing art form.
