La Traviata, or The Fallen Woman, is considered one of Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpieces and one of the most beautiful operas ever composed.
It is the tale of a beautiful and carefree, but dying, courtesan Violetta and her tragic love for Alfredo, amid scandal, class divides and seduction.
Opera Hunter has assembled an exception cast of performers, including sopranos Jenna Robertson and Ashlee Woodgate in the leading role of Violetta, Joshua Oxley and Sam Elmi as Alfredo and Tristan Entwistle and PJ Willis, who will share the role of Germont.
The Lake Macquarie Philharmonic Orchestra will again be conducted by Christopher Bearman, OAM with Mercia Buck, OAM musical director and Michael Blaxland director.
